Issue Position: Military and Veterans

Our military service members, past and present, make America the greatest nation in the world. As the son of a former soldier stationed at Ft. Richardson during statehood, Sean has a deep love and respect for our military, their families, and our veterans. Sean's actions speak louder than words on this front.

He has honored America's fallen by attending many memorial services on behalf of Alaskans, and visiting the wounded. Sean is known for supporting service members and families at their deployments and redeployments, changes of command, military spouse support gatherings, and more.

Alaska's military community is part of our "Alaska Strong' pride, yet we also have a duty to them, as an integral part of our past, present, and future. I will continue to find ways to make their lives in Alaska rewarding.

Sean has also sponsored key initiatives to make sure Alaska veterans get the benefits they have earned, the medical care they need, and the respect veterans deserve.

Alaska is home to more veterans per capita than any other state, and services to these heroes continue to be a primary focus of the Parnell administration. Sean has successfully fought to retain our northern military presence at Eielson Air Force Base, and has sponsored several bills to assist military families as they transition to Alaska.
